Jim Furyk remains a +1400 golf betting favorite in the sportsbook to win the Greenbrier Classic this week. His closest competitor in that category, Matt Kuchar, is at +1800.
For some reason, though, Furyk isn’t the favorite in the sportsbook in his individual matchup to beat Kuchar.

Golf bettors won’t have any past history to go on when they handicap the Greenbrier Classic, which makes its maiden voyage this year in White Sulphur Springs, WV with a field that includes nine different major champions. It replaces the long-standing Buick Open on the Tour slate, and brings a top ten player – Jim Furyk – who is priced as the +1400 betting favorite to win.

Golf bettors usually want to make an evaluation of the top contenders (i.e., betting favorites) in a tournament before making an "investment," and the Greenbrier Classic is no exception.
This is the first year ever for this PGA Tour event, so there is not a lot of history on this course to lean on, but we know what kind of course it is, and that may serve some players better…
